Well it's been ages again but been busy!!! George and Daisy are now 15 months old, and walking about all over the place. Still no words but getting closer. George pretty much says plane and can spot one a mile away. Daisy can point at stuff and say Dook. (Which she does alot). Their birthday which I mentioned last time was a massive success. The lovely Kate(c) excelled in the baking of a fantastic cake that was totally child friendly and big thanks to everyone who made

it so special. I'm unemployed again so if anyone has any job news let me know!!!

It was Lovely to see Gail and Billy and Karen and Adam recently thanks guys good times

We also had a lovely time with Mark Stacey and Ollie at chessington. Lets do it again Congrats to Glen and Amanda on the birth of Hermione Rose. Cant wait to meet you and Hayden. Lets sort that out guys!!. Well that'll do for now. TTFN

Well well well, Ten months seems to have flown by and my what a time it's been. We've been through all sorts and still have so much more to come. It's Fathers day today my first official one and also it's The Lovely Kate(c)s last day of maternity leave. Yes she's back to work tomorrow and I know how hard it's going to be going back to work and leaving the babies having had to do it twice now. I have a new job working as warehouse and distributions manager for Anna lou of London Jewellery, check out the website if you like funky fashion jewellery for women at annalouoflondon.com. As for George and Daisy well, George can crawl on all fours now, both of them are standing up, Daisy has six teeth and George four. They both love eating cream cheese sandwiches and are pretty much sleeping through now ( which means mum and dad can have a sneaky G'N'T of an evening ). Not long to go till birthday celebrations, it's gonna be mental. Think I'm going to buy them something small and quiet for their birthday cause I know aunts uncles and grandparents will do something "hilarious" like buy a drum kit and microphone!!! anyway ta ta for now be back soon.

Half a Year

Well I never!!!! It's been 6 months now (actually just over) since George and Daisy were born, and what a six months it has been. Daisy has her first tooth through (the second isn' too far behind either) we get the occasional uninterrupted nights sleep, and having had them weighed just yesterday they are doing just dandy.

All we need now is for them to start crawling and we'll enter a whole new world.

Weaning has been great they now eat three square meals a day ( They actually eat better than us if truth be told) and seem to really enjoy it. Can't think of much else to say right now as I'm suffering with baby brain.

It's taken too long i know but this parenting lark is quite tricky!!!!! The twins are five months old now and have real personalities, for those of you who have seen them recently you'll know. We still get the odd bad night but generally getting much better. Xmas was amazing and the twins got loads of great toys and stuff, it's going to be a strange year this year what with myself getting fathers day and The Lovely Kate(c) getting mothers day, and my parents moving back to London to be close to us and my grandparents. We've started the kids off on baby rice today, and so a new chapter starts! I'll try and keep this going but for now ta ta

Right for those of you who don't know Daisy and George are not identical and I'm gonna outline why.

1) the oxford English dictionary definition of identical is....... EXACTLY ALIKE seeing as Daisy is a GIRL and George is a BOY they cannot be Exactly alike

2) For twins to be identical they have had to come from the same egg our two were separate eggs both fertilised.

3) LOOK AT THEM!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE QUITE OBVIOUSLY NOT EFFING IDENTICAL.

So, we're really getting into it now. The twins have been alive three whole calender months now and awake and screaming for pretty much most of that. Although when one of them cracks you a mischievous little grin the long nights and constant vomiting are instantly forgotten.

Why is it that health visitors spend all their time telling you how you should do stuff and how stuff can be bad and harmful for you babies and then the minute you tell them or the Dr that you're worried about the nasty chesty cough one of the babies has the same people instantly dismiss you " oh it's probably nothing" MY ARSE!!!!!!

Auntie Sharon & Uncle Malcolm have been a great help and have really shown willing to muck in (at the especially hard times when I'm at work and the babies are screaming). I think they get just how hard it can be and really appreciate what The Lovely Kate(c) and I are going through.

We also couldn't have coped without the love and support of both sets of parents. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU.

Nothing much more to report at the moment. George was unwell for a while with a chesty cough/cold but is better now. They have both started to sleep almost all the way through the night now (with the odd exception) Both are happy and smiling (again with the odd exception) and we're all looking forward to x-mas. proper update to follow CIAO

George And Daisy Doing Their Best Phil And Grant

Well well well, it's been a while again but this is difficult to keep going with two little uns keeping you awake. Where to start? They are two months old now and doing very well apart from a touch of colic and the fact that George is waging a one boy war against the ozone with some of the most foul smelling farts known to man. (He puts me, his Grandad(My Dad) and his uncle Joe to shame!!!!!) Weight wise George is now around 11 1/2lbs whilst Daisy chips in around the 9 1/2 mark. We've had some good and some bad nights in terms of sleep with the average being around two chunks of three hours so not too much to grumble at. (although i do frequently, I mean come on I do a 12 hour shift on top and I'm a man gotta complain about something haven't I??

They've just had their first set of immunisations, which went well The Lovely Kate(c) was very brave and didn't cry at all!!!! Can't think of much else to say what with it being 6am and I've just finished feeding Daisy!!!! see you all soon

Five weeks in

Well it's hard keeping this blog updated at the mo but I'm trying. A few things from the night of labour I forgot to add. Now to me these are all signs that these two are destined for something special but to everyone else it's probably just me being twee. We were the only people on the maternity ward that night which is unusual in itself, but when The Lovely Kate(c)'s waters were broken there were two that's right TWO rainbows in the sky at the same time. They were born on our wedding anniversary so on their 18th birthday it'll be our 25th wedding anniversary.

Two weeks in

Well the kids and The Lovely Kate(c) have been home for a while now. They came out of hospital on 14Th August. And what a two weeks it's been. They've both got forms of colic so the sleep has been even less than even i expected. I've only got two weeks left off work, but hopefully they'll start to settle down. It's quite upsetting for us that we can't do anything to help settle them. We've done our first visit shopping and it was fun but stressful. We were told that we would be late for our first trip out. But we were actually 5 mins early. (albeit it took us three hours to get ready!!!) We registered the kids on Friday so they are now officially George Thomas Taylor and Daisy Grace Taylor.

TIRED AND EMOTIONAL BUT PROUD DAD

Well what an eventful week. The Lovely Kate(c) woke on Sunday the 10th of august feeling a little rough at 4 in the morning, we went to the hospital at 9 and at midday they decided to bring the induction forward to today. So that was that. She had her waters broken at around eight thirty pm

The Lovely Kate(c) was so brave when having an epidural as she was scared of having one. And to make matters worse the first fell out whilst she was in the middle of having massive contractions, and so had to have a second one. Anyway after a fairly standard 12 hour labour (standard in time for any ladies reading, I'm in no way diminishing labour!!!!) she was fully dilated and it was time to go. The Lovely Kate(c) then gave birth to our two wonderful children. George was born on 11/08/08 at 08:11 (how weird) and Daisy was born at 08:18 (which incidentally was 10 mins before i had predicted two weeks previously). George weighed in at 6lbs 13 oz Daisy just behind at 4lbs 13 oz. And it's been a roller coaster of sleepless nights and funny faces since. Well we're all done with the scans having had the last one today 31/07/08. I've posted some scans again having not been given a new one today due to the size of the babies. The top is our little boys' first and last scan, the one above is our little girls' last and first. It's amazing how much has happened in the months between these scans and how everyone had said that at the first scan our daughter looked like a girl before we even knew she would be. (Well done Mum and Dad) It's going to be an exicting, scary, funny and most of all loving ride through parenthood for us and childhood/adolesence for them. I hope those of you that read this will be along for the ride at some point or in some way, just remember to keep your arms inside the carriage at all times and that the louder you scream the faster you go!!!!!!!! ;-}

PHOTO HAS NO MEANING THIS TIME

Well we're getting really close now. We had an appointment with the consultant last week (22/7) and all is good, Little girl turned now so she's head down and ready to go. The consultant also said that normally she like to induce twins around thirty eight weeks, which means we're now due at around three weeks. MENTAL!!!! Having to get good at DIY now as well which is tricky and has had some varied results. Have to be careful on my grammar and spelling on this blog as Sadie is not a fan of apostrophe s in the wrong place :-) For those of you who read this and don't know the names of the babies I'm sorry but as soon as I can post them I will, for now on this page they'll be known as baby boy and baby girl. But also if the kids ever read this at some point in the future please note that we knew your names for a while!

Wow another week another step closer. Have almost finished the nursery, as you can see. Had our top geezer Dave round for dinner the other day which was ace, but it also reminded me there are so many of you that The Lovely Kate(c) and I have still to see. We're really sorry if we haven't seen you we will try we promise. The car seats are now all installed and ready to go, except that with the 6:45am delivery from John Lewis nursery list there was still stuff missing. Annoying for us and we are put of the company so to speak imagine how frustrating it would be for un-understanding people ( if un-understanding is a word which i don't think it is but it's my blog and wotcha gonna do)

WOW LOOK AT THE SIZE OF MY SCAN!!!!!

So as you can see we've had another scan and what a shock it was to see our baby girl in 4D. (For those not in the know the fourth dimension is real time movement) Our little lad didn't want to face the camera which is why he's not in 4D. We're getting closer to the due date now. We've gone 32.5 weeks and the average for twin labour is 37 so not far away now. The nursery stuff arrives on Friday the 11th of July so I'll be spending all day putting cots together and car seats into place. We're starting to control our nerves over style of delivery ( obviously when I say we I mean The Lovely Kate(c)) but it's gonna be an immense project, with what seems like roughly half the hospital staff in the theatre to oversee and control the birth. I've got an image of the DR (medical not WHO) asking if I'd like to cut the cord and my head popping over the shoulder of someone and saying "love too but can't quite get there." Christ I hate Howard from the Halifax adverts. Sorry but the advert was on whilst I'm writing this.

No photos this time!!!!

Well it's been a while but haven't needed to update too much, both babies doing well. They're all healthy and stuff our little girl is really wriggling like a maniac in there.

The weirdest thing happened to my on Monday (23/06/08) I have absolutely no problem buying female products ie; underwear and sanitary stuff but i was trying to buy an outfit for our daughter today and have never felt so uncomfortable people looking at me all funny, women giving me shifty eyes and stuff. It's a sad indictment on our society when a man (or me) can't buy these things without feeling like people are looking at them like some sort of weirdo.

Also just as a by line why are there no southerners on big brother this year? Is it 'cause it's only northerners that want to ridicule themselves on TV?

Well started to buy the boring stuff i mentioned in the last post, well I say boring but we got to cots (cool), some pans(boring) and a Baby Dyson which, if you ask The lovely Kate(c) I've wanted for ages.

I took this on a day out in London.

Wow well it's been one year to the day that i passed my driving test, and my life changed for ever. Every thing's cool here. I can finally see and feel the twins move and they seem to react to me now too (which is nice). Got loads to do now in preparation for their arrival. We no longer have a spare room it's a nursery!!!!! And having to buy sensible boring stuff before the fun stuff can be brought.

Wow! haven't been on for a while but it's been a busy few weeks. Have had to get a new car, what with the impending double your family event about to happen. (As i tap away here there are 107 days left if The Lovely Kate(c) is to go full term(unlikely)). We have also had our second scans (as you'd be able to see except that I'm having trouble uploading the scans), we have names for them but I'll have to check as to if I can give that information out. That's all really no real news just that I've been busy painting the decking and fences in preperation for the summer cutting the lawn all that grown up jazz!!!! Found some old school friends on facebook which was cool, other than that I'm gonna check out, this post was just to add new scans of the bubs,

The Lovely Kate(c) X-mas day 2007

Been a little while but not had much to update. The lovely Kate (c)'s morning sickness has properly stopped now , well except for the constant nausea, but apprently that's managable. We actually went out for dinner last weekend which was nice. The last weekend in march saw (or should that be felt???) definate movment. Although the Midwife doesn't seem to agree that that is possible. Honestly how are we supposed to put our trust in someone who has had great delight in telling The Lovely Kate(c) that twins will be hard work, that she can look forward to broken ribs from the kicking and that it was unlikely that i would feel movement at this stage. She also recommended we see the maternity ward at week 36, well the twins might've arrived by then as twin pregnancies don't usually last full term. If she could just open her eyes and mind and realise that not all pregnancies are the same it would at least ease my mind a bit. As we approach the next scan we have had a couple of new entries in the name list which i will divulge when the time is right. (i.e when i'm told it's ok to do so) Thank you goodnight much love

Richmond Park New Years Eve 2007

Well we've definitely got a bump now. It just seemed to spring out one morning! We were out in Leicester seeing Milly, Max, James, Dan, Katie and the rest of the Berrymen (and women) and on the morning of the journey it just popped out. The Lovely Kate(c) was very shocked! But now with the bump in tow shopping foe maternity clothes is officially a nightmare! Mothercare in Kingston is next to useless (That's rubbish not the name of the shop next door) The jeans that The Lovely Kate(c) wanted to buy were folded up with the price on the inside and stored on the floor in the wrong order!!!! Now correct me if I'm wrong but this is supposed to be a shop with mothers in mind, how many heavily pregnant women could have picked those jeans up I wonder? It really is disheartening, The Lovely Kate(c) got quite down when she couldn't find nice clothes to fit either, because although she's the size of 18 weeks gone she's not massive in any way shape or form. All the maternity clothes seem to be tents with a design on. Also what is it with underwear firms deciding that once you're pregnant ( or choose not to wear wired bras) you don't want your underwear to either a) match or b) look sexy/attractive! Never mind cross your heart, cross you fingers and hope it looks good!!!! Why don't they ask the women who wear them what they would like. Christ I'm starting to come across all Daily Mail or Lynn Faulds Wood now, bloody shops! I'll have to watch some football to re-affirm my masculinity!!!

I've just turned 31 now by the way!!!!

Nearly into week 16 and The Lovely Kate(c) has felt the first movments of the twins, EEK!!!!

I've started to look in shops like Mothercare (oh dear!) and we've started a list of names TBR at a later date.

We both feel bad that we cant get to see all of you guys and I hope that this blog is in some small way a connection to all of you (You know who YOU are) :-).

Week 15

Well we're another week closer and I can just start to see a little ray of sunshine in the clouds of morning sickness. Although The Lovely Kate(c) might not realise it, I've noticed that the act of being sick has actually started to slow down. Not much of a breakthrough I know but hey cut me some slack here!!!!!!
Finally managed to get the Baby Count down clock to work (although i will admit to a being a little bit miffed that it doesn't play the Countdown music) only for it to serve as a reminder that in 180 odd days The Lovely Kate(c) will be being put through all many of pain and injections. (All for the bigger picture i know)
It's a funny thing but when people know you're pregnant, you become public property. By this I mean people want to touch the belly ( The Lovely Kate(c)'s not mine), ask questions that i would've thought impolite, give you advice on what to eat and when, how you should be feeling and also they decide now is the best time to tell you the horror stories of when a friends mums' sisters aunt had a terriuble pregnancy and everything got torn beyond repair, and they were treated by junior Drs who knew nothing!!!!! It's like "guys guys please no more. We were excited now we're terrified."
Anyway enough from me for today, until next time!!!!

So nearly into March and this year is still going from strentgh to strength. All in all my 30th year on this planet has been a major one. In order I have,

Turned 30 (obviously)
Passed my driving test
Brought my first house
Celebrated my 6th wedding anniversary
Been made redundant
Got a new job
Discovered we (The lovely Kate(c) ) are having TWINS!!!

Scary but exciting times lie ahead, remade contact with those i love but have fallen out of touch with. And I now worry that not only will i have the responsibility of raising two children (at once) but they will have the task of making me mature and grow.

At the first scan last week i thoguht to myself, "right you dozy git you've seen this on tv hundreds of times so don't be a cliche" and then preceded to turn into a very large, crying cliche. I don't think the image of my child waking, stretching and sucking it's thumb will ever leave me or The lovley Kate (c), and nor would i wish it too. Seriously i know it sounds like old guff but it really was a life affirming and changing moment. And to anyone who reads this and hasn't experienced it yet then you are in for truly one of the joys of life.

Kate is now showing (albeit only a little) and I know that I speak for her as well as myself when i say we can't wait for our next scan.
